CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator – Turning

JOB DESCRIPTION

To produce accurate machined (turned) parts, to specific standards, on-time, maintaining quality, tolerances, safety standards, within budget based on the project plan and in order to improve the efficiency and quality of products.

THE ROLE

• Set up and operate CNC Lathes (Mazak & Mori Seiki) to produce precision rolls and components.
• Interpret technical drawings and CAD models producing CAM (Edgecam) programmes.
• Load materials into machines and monitor machining processes.
• Adjust machine settings and tool offsets to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Inspect finished products using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
• Maintain equipment and perform routine preventive maintenance.
• Maintain accurate production records and adhere to job order specifications.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Collaborate with engineers and quality control to ensure specifications are met.
• Assist in the development of new and existing manufacturing processes and procedures to optimise performance
• Train other personnel in the use of the machines and techniques, including your team and apprentices.
• Daily completion of digital timesheets and work cards
• Carry out any other duties within the capability of the job holder.
